A load of cobblers...

No sordid innuendoes on this blog! This post isn't in-reference to balls and testicles (cockney rhyming) but shoes, not just any old shoes - shoes that even the quality conscious M&S would be proud of.  On a serious note, with mass production spreading like an epidemic it has enabled the high street retailer to offer a mammoth selection of footwear (that quite frankly are a sight for soar eyes) at bargain prices (being a  stereotypical jew - Im not complaining). However, those cheap and nasty's are putting a squeeze on the very art that is cobbling. Yup, the days where shoes are made to order are few and far between but we can and will invest in the small number of specialists, whom take pride in their art and use very the best leathers and fabrics in doing so. The brand you ask? Officine Creative... Lets stand and they will deliver hand made shoes made by Giuseppe himself (Ok maybe not a Giuseppe, but they guarantee it will be a gentleman of Italian origin)

whoa- the first pair are 300 pounds?! Too bad, the color and heel are perfect. Sad. Thank you for your comment, by they way :-)

The shoes are rather nice. I used to buy only very good shoes. Now that I live in London, I find it a problem. Every so often, shoes need a new Topy (you know this rubber sole on top of a leather sole so you don't go flying everytime the pavement is slightly slippery) or even a new heel etc. The cobblers (as in the people repairing the shoes) in London have nearly all proved to be disastrous. There is this handmade pair I had tailor-made in 1990 & Timpson almost destroyed, then claimed the shoe was "gone" when I complained. Of course, a Parisian cobbler "saved" it very easily... I hope it will reach 30 years (it should).
