Awkward and stiff I am, in front of that, that never lie's. I the little spy, dyspraxic (or so I think) from limb to limb. Is driven to deceive the capturing eye, a stubborn eye that fails to make the teeniest of tiniest exceptions....Pfff - Who am I kidding, awkward and Stiff Is me and awkward and stiff I shall always be.

Jacket: Vintage American Workwear
Shirt: Repro
Jeans: 1950's Vintage Levi's 501XX Big E
Shoes: Converse
Necklace: 1930's Gold Chain

At last... After two years (I tell no lie) of searching high and low, through the benign and average. I have finally bagged myself a pair of jeans. Not just any ole pair... A pair of 1950's vintage Levi's, of the BIG ease kind, in the most delectable and deepest of indigo dye's. The purest within, has yet to wash these lovelies for fear that I may bring harm to its untainted integrity. What's a Spy to do??

Return of the Spy.

Ello Ello Ello, how are we all? BIG BIG (scrap that) Mahoosive apologies for my recent state of hibernation, my excuse? well.... I could reel off a long list of endless, exciting adventures that repelled me from publishing my questionable tastes and daydreams for you lovely folk..... though I'm struggling to think of one!! WOW - my fear of living a distinctly average life, might just be reality. Anywho, Apart from  frantically trying to remember an hour long password for my bloggy blog (epic fail), I still work the preferred hours of Miss Dolly Parton as a buyer whilst working nights trying to sell myself to the highest bidder (How the eff do you "Explain in detail, the reason why you would be THE perfect candidate for the role in question", without verging into self indulgence and egotistical vulgarity? tis difficult, right?) and interning at www.intro-clothing.com has kept my little ole self away from trouble.
Enough of the catch up, Its time I bore you with the good stuff. I, a devout disciple of the Oliver people's testament, found myself becoming disillusioned with their samey samey rhetoric of late, desperately seeking a new revelation from the powers that be. A revelation that oozes all the goodness and delight of the past with a generous spin of the new. All things good comes to those who wait... Wait we did and the OP church doesn't disappoint with its latest offering of varying mediums and classic shapes. Like a faithful follower of the short sighted cause, I bow with pride and joy.

Although Sweet with a liquorice like sheen and delicious to the touch, these tasseled loafers boar a bitter-sweet aftertaste... Sweet comes in the form of its refined leathery goodness, evolving a debt ridden pauper (a degree in economics brought me nothing but a spiraling overdraft) into somewhat of a prince. As for bitter, well - the realisation that my clumsy man size feet had shrunk two sizes to an above average feminine size 7, left my content self burdened with a sudden wave of grief, frantically trying to persuade a somewhat unresponsive sales assistant that "I am a size 9, I swear - It must be the shoe". Does this also mean that gravity has had its wicked way with my 5ft 11 and a half (the half being very crucial) inch frame? Surely not! Can't be, or could it? Are my elf like feet destined to trot in a pair of Tom Cruise-esque lifts? Or will compensation come in the form of a doctor Seuss hat... Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Fleet Street-Esque

With the tip of my index finger, an adjustment is made to the bridge of my spectacles, which leads my simplistic mind on a journey of make believe in which I play a Fleet street Journalist with ink stained fingers and tortoise shell specs to hand   indulging in liquid lunches with Paul Callan and chums. All is bliss in my "Anything goes" daydream utopia, that is until the spectacles are laid to rest and reality proves to be far from fantasy. There's no harm in dreaming right? For those who are kind enough to take an interest in my questionable tastes and daydreams, you will remember that I purchased a new pair of spectacles a month or so ago. My child like excitement  was met with bitter grief when the beauties at SEEN gently broke the news that Oliver Peoples had discontinued the very choice of acetate I had so longed for. Anywho, After many a desperate email sent to the lovelies at Oliver Peoples, pleading them to take pity on my despair. The search for the illusive Dark Tortoise Black frames proved unsuccessful and so I settled for the equally dreamy El Mirage Tortoise. What do we think?

To prove my desperation- Promise you wont laugh....

"Hello, Hope all is well!

I recently made my third, yes third purchase of Oliver Peoples Specs. However, to my great dismay (I was almost in tears – HA!) the great team at SEEN – Manchester, England – Informed me that the specs I had chosen were no longer available. I was hoping that maybe you – the talented and o so great people at Oliver Peoples could do some investigating and help put the twinkle back in my eyes and track down a pair of Riley’s (the smaller size) in Dark Tortoise Black.

I would be ever so grateful – as without this third pair of Oliver Peoples Specs, Im afraid I might just contemplate that very option that we proud short sighted individuals never say - Lasik!!

P.S. love the Brand!!!!"

SAD.

I have decided to give in to peer pressure and post some self portraits so that you guys can finally put a face to a name. I am however,  the least photogenic person (at-least thats my excuse for just having an ugly mug) so please ignore the bad skin and the E.T. fingers. I agree, I am the most self-deprecating person you shall meet.

Enjoy...

Spec-tacular!

Ugh, Please excuse the title! I don't know what's wrong with me these days - Im developing an unhealthy fetish for cheesy puns! Anywho please ignore! We will blame it on my limited vocabulary! Lets get back to the post in hand - I have been blessed with many imperfections, one being my horrific vision. As an adolescent and freakishly ugly teen I was branded with cheap NHS glasses (free government specs - for all the internationals) that did no favours for my personal image nor pulling power (violins please). This was all to change as the spec-tacular (sorry) brand that is Oliver Peoples guided me towards the light, both literally and figuratively! I now hold my head up high wearing my third pair of OP'S and I am proud to say my name is WE SPY WITH MY LITTLE i and I am short sighted!

I love them all I couldn't possibly pick a favourite! Idea - How about the gang at Oliver Peoples send me the whole collection (free of course) and then I can make a just and informative decision - I think thats fair!
